His Grace Foundation was designed to be “grace in the need of the moment” for the patients and their families on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMTU) of Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH).
His Grace Foundation provides the following services to BMTU patients and their families:
Gift Baskets
His Grace Foundation’s initial encounter with the patient and his or her family will be through the delivery of a gift basket made specifically for the child when they enter the BMTU. The basket is filled with toys, games, personal need items and goodies suited for a lengthy hospital stay.
Meals
Twice a month HGF will turn the family room into a warm and inviting dining room with flowers, music and gourmet food for patients’ families to enjoy.
Parking
As long as families reside on the BMTU of Texas Children’s Hospital, their parking for one automobile will be paid for by HGF.
Weekly Shopping
Each week, a volunteer from HGF will shop
on each family’s behalf to purchase any of their immediate needs or special requests.
Phone Card
HGF will provide a phone card enabling families to keep relatives and friends updated on their child’s progress.
Massage Therapy
Craig Brown, Massage Therapist, will visit the BMTU once a week and set up his chair for neck and shoulder massages.
Time for Caregivers
HGF has volunteers specifically trained for accommodating the needs of patients on the BMTU. If caregivers desire to take a break, HGF will be happy to provide a volunteer to stay with their child.
